What is Website Design
Website design encompasses the design process during which the look and feel of
the website is created. TNC design websites which are specifically tailor made to
suit the clients needs.
There are a number of factors which we consider during the design process including:
- Appropriate use of colour, fonts and images
- A page layout which meets the objectives of the web site with respect to the sales
process
- Simple site navigation to allow the end user to quickly and efficiently
find any information they are looking for
- Website design which is flexible to allow for future expansion of the content
- The design should allow for any usability issues such as designing websites for the
blind
Our websites are designed using standard compliant XHTML (the latest version of HTML)
and styled using Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) as recommended by W3C. This approach creates
websites that are effecient, fast to load and compatable with the widest possible
range of client browsers.
Designing for the Web
Website design is very different from working with conventional media such as print as
there are a number of unknown variables that the designer needs to allow for. For example, a
designer working in print will know the size of the paper before he commences the project
while a website designer will need to allow for the website being viewed on a wide range
of platforms, and under a wide range of circumstances. A website designer will not know
the dimensions of his canvas at the time that the website is created!
