Unlike a printed brochure your website is an on-going project which should evolve
over time. The content should constantly be kept up to date and fresh content added on
a regular basis.
What does our Website Maintenance Service include?
TNC's standard Website Maintenance Service allows for the routine update of text or
images within the existing pages of the website. It does not allow for the addition of
new pages or changes in the style or structure of the website. For clients that know they
will be making updates beyond the scope of our standard agreement a fixed fee is agreed in advance,
based on the perceived workload, and this is evaluated with time. So if you want to add
a monthly newsletter or produce regular technical articles this can be allowed for.
TNC aim to complete all website updates within seven days although many are completed
within 24 hours. Of course, should an update be required at a specific time this can be
arranged in advance.

Should I use a Content Management System?
One option is to have a Content Managment System which allows you to update the website
content yourself. However there are advantages and disadvantages of such systems. The main
advantage is that you can update your website in-house in a timely way. The main disadvantage
is that copywriting your website content is unlike writing for conventional brochures as
consideration needs to be made for search engines and the impact any text will have upon them.
What about the combined approach?
In practice we find that a combined approach works well for many clients. At the outset of
the project we identify those parts of the website which will be updated on a regular basis
and provide a Content Management System for those areas. For example, adding regular company
news updates is often best completed by the client. However areas of the website which change
on an infrequent basis are best handled within your maintenance agreement.
