The Lawn Guest House

Client Brief

The Lawn Guest house already had a successful website when the owners approached TNC (IT Solutions) Ltd to develop a new one. Although the existing website had high visitor figures the business owners felt that the existing website was getting a little tired and would benefit from a fresh design.

The Solution

TNC (IT Solutions) Ltd created a new design which displayed the guest house information to the visitors in a clear and easily accessible fashion. Although the basic content remained the same the copy write was improved and the layout restructured to ensure visitors could quickly make the decision to book. This was achieved using a new set of professional photographs, providing all the “buying” information in one location and placing customer testimonials in prominent locations.

Once approved the website was created on the ASP.Net platform using html and CSS, with an access database to hold dynamic content.

As a result of these changes/improvements although there was no initial significant improvement in visitor figures the number of enquiries increased significantly.

Features

Visitor Comments – A mechanism was created to encourage satisfied customers to leave their comments about the stay on the website. This could be achieved by completing a simple form which updated the database and sent a notification to the owners. The owners could then approve the listing for entry in the database.

Multiple Exchange Rates – The website requests the European Central Banks exchange rate from a web service and uses this information to present the Guest House tariffs in Sterling, Dollars or Euro to make currency conversion easy for the website visitor.

E-newsletter – The enquiry form includes an option to allow visitors to subscribe to the company e-newsletter. An e-newsletter is an essential tool for maintaining contact with your client base and ensuring that they are aware of industry trends. The Lawn uses this information to send email shots to previous customers encouraging them to use their services again.

Multi Lingual – The lawn provides basic information for customers in multiple languages. These pages can be accessed by clicking on the flags at the top of the page.

Call Back Service – A system was implemented which allows potential visitors to enter their details in to a website form to request an immediate call back. The system creates a telephone call to link the Guest house with the guest.

Additional Services

The Lawn Guest House has adopted our management package to ensure that we deal with any technical problems relating to the website. The package also includes a wide range of reports giving a constant view of the traffic visiting the website, where the website is listed and who links to it.
