Rosemead Guest House

Client Brief

TNC (IT Solutions) Ltd first created a website for Rosemead Guest House in the late 1990's. Technology is continually moving forward and the current design is the third incarnation of this website. Each time the client has been very happy with the success of the previous design but wanted a fresh look with additional new features.

The Solution

A clean modern design was created which allowed for flexability when adding content. Careful consideration was given to the information required to encourage a booking. As a result areas were created to display room rates and comments left by other guests and the "Lightbox" script was used for showing photographs. A prominent direct link was provided to the Guest house booking system.

This web site was built using ASP.Net 3.5 with a content management system based on an Access database. Technologies used included ASP.Net, VB.Net, Ajax, Xhtml and CSS.

Features

The Rosemead Guest House website has a number of features which include:

Updateable Rates – The management console can be used to add, edit or delete room rates. The rates are directly linked to a webservice which provides up to date exchange rates so that the rates can be displayed in Sterling, Dollars or Euros.

Special Offers – The management console can be used to add, edit or delete special offers which are displayed on the website.

Guest Comments – Guests can enter their comments directly in to the website. A notification is sent to the guest house so that the comments can be approved using the management console.

Mail List – Website visitors can subscribe or unsubscribe from the guest house mailing list. The management console provides access to download a current mailing list.

Links Directory – The management console provides facilities to add, edit or delete links from the website links database.

Sitemap – A dynamic sitemap has been provided to ensure that any new pages that are created are automatically added to the sitemap

Additional Services

This website is managed by TNC (IT Solutions) Ltd although much of the content is updated using the content management system.
